☆ 三面記事を拾い読み ―――――――――――――― 2004/11/10
新聞記事(英文のChinaDaily)を読んでいると、実名やボカシのかかっていない
写真がほとんどだ。罪を犯して獄中にある者、怪我人、入院中のエイズ患者、
現行犯逮捕の瞬間、、、「人権侵害」と私は感じてしまうけれど、中国人はな
んとも思わないのだろうか。
中国を、東西南北中の５地域にわけて集めた三面記事を拾い読みしてみると。
南のほうが知的犯罪が多いのか、欧米並みになりたいという意識が強いのか。
――広東省では、
大学生がキャンパス外のアパートに住むことを禁止。
幼稚園で性教育の開始。
６０％以上の離婚は不倫が原因。
「親孝行子供コンテスト」に、両親の再婚に反対すれば資格なし、という条件
が加わった。
東北などからの出稼ぎ農民人口の多いこの地区では、悲劇も報告されている。
妻の出産費用が払えないため、自宅出産で夫が介助、男児はまもなく死亡。
――西の四川省などからは、
「何でも聞きます」というプラカードをさげてホテルの前に立つ商売を始めた
若者の話――無許可のカウンセリング業です。
親戚からの借金を返せない女性が高層ビルの屋上に立って、飛び降りると脅か
した。
省都の成都はギャンブルが盛んなところですが、徹夜マージャンで一度もトイ
レにたたなかった女性が、膀胱炎で病院に担ぎ込まれた話。
高速道路上でバス待ちに退屈した男性三人が、次々に来る車のナンバープレー
トの番号が奇数か偶数かという賭けを始め、通りかかったパトカーに咎められ
た。
賭博は違法！と書いてあったけれど、本当？皆堂々とやっていると思っていま
した。
――新疆（ウイグル自治区）では
一年間の家賃を踏み倒して夜逃げした人の話。
アル中の父に手を焼いた家族が、一年にわたって、自宅の一室に監禁した話。
中秋の日、月餅早食いコンテストが開かれ、１分半で１８個の月餅を平らげた
男性が優勝、商品は直径１メートル重さ２０キロの月餅。
――中部地区からは、
湖北省の都市に住んでいる夫婦が農村に忍び込んで鶏を盗もうとした話。
仕事をさぼっていると母親に叱責された２０歳の男性が、農薬自殺を試みた。
両親を癌で亡くし、幼い妹を養育しながら、アルバイトをして勉強にも励んで
いる兄の話、養父母を求める広告をインターネット上に掲載するという。
――にぎやかで裕福な人々が住んでいる国際都市上海では、
４０００以上あるバーに、資格を持ったバーテンダーが１６人しかいないとい
う実態。
この巨大都市から吐き出されるごみの量は、一年間に４百万トン、その内リサ
イクルすれば市の利益になる額は、１７億元(８００の認可リサイクル所)、し
かし実際は、ほとんどが許可を持たない５００００余りの民間又は個人の回収
業者が集めるため、市の収入にはならない。
上海の結婚ビジネス大繁盛―結婚式場のサービスと価格比較をネット上ででき
るようになった。
――日本では記事にならないものが多い。
日本の方が凶悪犯罪が多い、そして評論家や政治家を交えての討論が新聞紙上
・テレビの特番で繰り広げられる。一部で起こった特殊なものが、日本全国に
アッという間に広まり、現在の社会現象として、全国民が悩む問題となってし
まう。
一方の中国では、教育のかたよりからか国が大きいからか、農村部と都市部の
差が著しく、情報はすみずみまで行き渡らない。国内の問題・事件はともかく
国外のニュースを知っているのはごく一部の人だけということになる。
それよりも、日常時として認識されているのはいかにも人間くさい話ばかり。
借金、ギャンブル、詐欺、アルコール、自殺、結婚・離婚、親子関係、医療関
係のミス・事故など。
貧困から来るお金に対しての固執、他人と比べることから来る嫉妬、家族間の
プライバシーの問題..。

While reading the English newspaper, China Daily, I found there are a
lot of photos depicting the actual scenes of injured or dead people,
inmates, AIDS patients and those who were caught red-handed.
Some articles have real names of those who have committed a crime.
Isn’t this the violation of Human Rights?
Let’s see what we can find in the newspaper.
From five regions of China- south, north, east, west and central part.
It seems that more intellectual crimes are committed in the south.
In addition, people in this area want to catch up with the west.
In Guang Dong Provincial government prohibits college students from
renting off-campus apartments.
Sex education starts in kindergartens.
Over 60% of divorce is caused by adultery.
In the ‘Worthiest Children Contest’, one more condition is
attached-candidates are not entitled if they oppose their parent’s
remarriage.
This area has a huge influx of migrant workers, and as a result more
tragedies occur.
Due to the lack of money, a husband helped his wife deliver a baby at
home and a baby died soon afterwards.
Meanwhile in Si Chuan Province, a young man starts non-licensed
counseling business.
He stands in front of a hotel with a self-ad in his hand, which reads
“I am a listener.Talk as much as you want.”
A woman threatened her relatives by trying to jump off the rooftop of
a high-rising building, because she was unable to repay her debt.
The capital city, Cheng Du is well-known for its gambling customs.
For instance, a woman was rushed to a hospital for a bladder
inflammation after an all-night mahjong without going to a toilet.
Three men on an expressway waiting for a bus got bored and began
betting.
Guessing whether the car license numbers are odd or even, they bet
and were reprimanded by the police.
The article said “Gambling in public is illegal.”- Really?
I wondered.
In the far west area, Xin Jiang, there was a story of a man who fled
by night without paying a one-year rent.
A family confined their alcoholic father to a room for the whole year.
On the mid-autumn day, there was a moon-cake eating contest in which
a man who ate 18 cakes in 1.5 minutes won.
He was awarded a huge moon-cake weighing 20 kg and measuring one
meter in diameter.
In the central area, there was a report of a couple living in the
city of Hu Bei Province tried to steal chickens from a farmer.
A 20-year-old man was scolded by his mother for not working hard
attempted suicide by taking agricultural chemicals.
There was also a humanitarian story of parent-less boy who supports
his little sister while working and studying hard himself.
He seeks foster parents on the web.
Meanwhile, in the most affluent and international city Shang Hai,
there are only 16 licensed bartenders while more than 4000 bars are
in operation.
This huge city produces 4 million ton garbage annually, among which
most is not recycled by the municipal government.
50.000 non-license private or individual recycling agents collect the
garbage, and as a result, the city makes no profit at all.
Marriage business in this city prospers, which enables people to
compare prices of wedding halls on the website.
There are miscellaneous news articles that cannot be printed in Japan.
It appears Japan has more serious crimes, and critics and politicians
discuss problems on the newspapers and TV.
Although some news are particular cases, they spread out quickly and
people all over Japan know and start worrying as if they were a
social problem.
On the other hand, China is such a populous huge country that
education/information does not disseminate quickly.
Due to the huge educational and economic gap between the rural and
urban areas, there are few people who know what is happening outside
the country and what causes the problems.
What interests most citizens are only those miscellaneous articles in
daily lives, such as financial matters(debt, gambling, fraud),
alcohol-related problems, suicide, marriage/divorce/adultery, family
relationship, privacy etc.

同じ三面記事でも日本の新聞とは大違いですね。
考えてみれば、旧ソ連崩壊後は世界最大の国土を有する国なんですから、当然
の話かとは思います。月並みな話になってしまいますが、やはり広大な国土に
大勢の人間がひしめいているだけあって、貧富の格差が物凄く激しい様に感じ
られます。
今月十一月の頭に上海観光をしましたが、天気が快晴でも空に霞がかかってい
ました。光化学スモッグが酷いみたいですね。どうりで地球温暖化が進行して
日本へ超大型台風が来る訳です。
だからといって、今の中国に抑制を求めるのも難しい話か..と思わざるを得ま
せんが..。

確かにそうですね。大気汚染は深刻な問題です。北京はもっとヒドイらしいで
す。私が住む南通は上海から北西に１８０キロほどです。空気はきれいです。
水もおいしい(もちろん水道水は飲めませんが)。風も雨も適量、そして何より
太陽の光に恵まれています。毎日洗濯物が良く乾きますし、布団も干せてフカ
フカです。
困るのは交通マナーの悪さでしょうか。特に、クラクションをひっきりなしに
鳴らす大型トラックなど。夜中は静かですが、昼間外出すると、この音を聞い
ただけで飛び上がってしまいます。
私の住居は道路に面しているので、今こうして室内で窓を閉め切ってメールを
うっていても、ブーブーとすごい音が聞こえます。もうだいぶ慣れましたけれ
どね。日本では騒音規制もだいぶきびしいですが、こちらではまだまだです。
